A Nazarene’s Lament (first draft)

This is going to be edited in the coming week, but here’s the first draft

I don’t claim to have a plan.
I love, I hate, I fear.
And I don’t claim to be your man.

You pass worldly wisdom by,
You feign faith, but you don’t hear.
I don’t claim to have a plan.

You keep asking me why
I’m a friend, I’m not a seer.
And I don’t claim to be your man.

Over me you cry,
But for brothers you won’t shed a tear.
I don’t claim to have a plan.

You scream “the end is nigh”,
And hold your worldly goods so dear.
And I don’t claim to be your man.

I don’t know much, but you will fly
When love outweighs your fear.
I don’t claim to have a plan,
And I don’t claim to be your man.
